I wonder how many people consider the origin of Bonfire Night? I was fascinated by the Gunpowder Plot as a kid, and wrote an imagined set of Guido Fawkes diaries as a project. I’m still not sure why we light fireworks though. That seems to celebrate the explosion that never happened?….
